Commercial Flooring Project Manager

MJ Construction, LLC. is searching for a Commercial Project Manager to add to our team. The qualified candidate will be an organized, self-motivated individual with a developed sense for the needs of individual projects. The candidate should have a basic understanding of both flooring and general construction practices.

Responsibilities:

-Manage start-up through completion of flooring installation on commercial flooring projects ranging from approximately  100,000 – $1,000,000.

-Work with General Contractors, End Users, Architects, commercial clients and sales persons to assure successful completion of each project.

-Manage subcontractors and installers.

-Monitor flooring projects from start through completion for proper installation methods, layout, etc.

-Execute contracts, complete materials buyout, estimate/ process change orders, submit RFI’s & submittal

-Assure work is being performed in a safe manner and in accordance with  OSHA standards; Conduct safety meetings with installers.

-Review estimates and work with estimator through project turnover process.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 2 years’ experience commercial construction management (flooring experience preferred).

-Education: Construction Management/ Construction Engineering degree or related field (equivalent in field experience considered)

-Ability to foresee potential problems before they start and find solutions with little help.

-Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

-Ability to read and understand blue prints and construction specifications

-Knowledge of flooring and tile preferred (carpet, hardwood, resilient and ceramic tile)

-Strong communication skills

-Ability to perform detailed and accurate material take-offs

-Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, understanding of on-screen take-off software

-Valid drivers license/ clean driving record
